Submission 2: interchange

Morning sun bathes onto the deck and living area through the north-east wall that is mainly composed of fixed glazing.

Viewing is also made possible from the deck into the living area.

Clerestory windows have the ability to make the ceiling/roof seem to float.

Your presence out on deck captures the summer breezes while the deep eaves can block out winter winds.

This house promotes feelings of safety while making the most of spectacular views through western wall. Privacy is not to be excluded as the bedroom walls are constrcuted of limestone with a generous sized awning window.

SPATIAL MODULE

This spatial module is an abstract representation of Mr. Peter Garrett's guitar. These linear elements also say a little bout Peter's personality; not afraid to go beyond limits, a direct person by sending his messages across and offensive when he needs. Thus forming this module which virtually looks a 3d plan drawing.

1. WEAVING

From weaving through one another produces this beautiful image. There is a strong relationship between this image and the contours of Bruny island. The angle and orientation seemlessly blends into the landscape of Tasmania.

2. PACKING

process 1.

process 2.

With the packing techique, a sense of structure was developed. Here we can see two seperate rooms possibly for the residence to glance out into the open nature. Whilst others envy what this shelter provides.

3. BLENDING

From the blending technique, an internal space and wall element was evolved from such manipulations. Behind the female characters are windows that run from top of the struture to the bottom. Some sense of interaction is also taking place through the void.

4. SPIRAL

process 1.

process 2.

final

At the final stages of the spiralling technique, I've produced an image that represents a multi-storey building. Accompanied by a canopy extruded from the structure.
